Forum 2015

The ALOA Forum took place in the Slieve Russell hotel in Co. Cavan on the 15th and 16th October 2015 under Chairperson Siobhan McEntee. The title of the Forum was ‘Communicating with Intent, Promoting Adult Literacy Services’. Martin G. O’Brien, CE, Cavan and Monaghan ETB, gave the opening address before Caroline Murphy from Avondale Media Services started the conference. Speakers over the 2 days included Stephen Plunkett from U-Casadh, Ms Fiona Hartley from SOLAS, David Treacy as Chairperson ETBI Literacy, Numeracy and Basic Education Forum and Inez Bailey from NALA. Workshops were facilitated by Don Delaney from d2 Communications and Áine Bermingham from Utter Digital. Heather Humphreys, Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht gave a ministerial address on the Friday morning.

AGM 2015

The 2015 AGM was held on 30th April in ETBI, Piper’s Hill Naas. Prior to the meeting starting, training on ‘Meeting Change with Integrity’ was provided by Eilish Roche and Maeve O’Grady from WIT.
